After Anna and Martja left for school, Meike and I took Lina to Kindergarten and Sabine went with her. Meanwhile, Patrick went to browse some motorcycle shops. The kids and teachers in Lina’s Kindergarten were very happy to meet Sabine. Sabine wasn’t so sure about them. Meike got her to shake the teachers’ hands and say Guten Morgen. After that she colored a picture. Once that was done she freaked out and came to sit on my lap. At that point, six girls were standing around her wanting to talk to her. She wasn’t interested. It was then time to pick up and take attendance. The teacher introduced Sabine and told the kids that Sabine couldn’t speak German. They were all pretty shocked that she couldn’t understand them. They then went out to play. She was interested for a few minutes then she was done. We were out of there by 9AM. Lina wanted to come with us. We came home to wait. Lina and Sabine watched movies and played.
Anna and Martje came home around 12:15PM. Anna had a great time. She met some new friends, did her own
homework, and ate breakfast. She was supposed to take pictures with her
phone but she was having such a good time she forgot.
After lunch, we were on our way. We stopped in Bremen on the way up to shop a
bit (all of the shops were closed when we were there yesterday) and have ice
cream. We ended up eating ice cream in a
restaurant on the main square in the view of the church. It was really pretty. The weather was also excellent! In fact, it was hot. When we left Bremen it was 30 degrees Celsius
or 86 degrees Fahrenheit. It took us
about an hour to get from Bremen to Holssel.
It was only 25 (or 77) when we got there but it was still quite
pleasant.
Sabine was very happy.
Heidrun and Heine have chickens, geese, dogs, cats and guinea pigs. She went on the grand tour of the yard and
looked at everything. They also have
toys because Martje and Lina stay here on the weekend sometimes. Sabine got out all the toys and built a
little farm with horses, cows, geese and pigs.
We then went out to dinner at the local pub, the Nordpol,
for currywürst and pommes. They had a
tiny play area with a wooden horse that the girls played on. By the time we got back to the house, we were
ready for bed.
